Job card (process management)
This document explains the procedure for recording the start and completion of manufacturing processes and the work time using ERPNext's Job Card.
What is a Job Card?
A job card is a management record automatically created for each process (operation) in a manufacturing order. It records the start and completion times of the work and the worker, and manages actual man-hours.
Checking the Job Card
Step 1: Open the Job Card List
- In the search bar
ジョブカードtype - or Manufacturing instructions Navigate to the target job card via the link.
Step 2: Confirm the target

| Process | Name of this process (e.g., steaming, fermentation) |
| Workstation | Equipment and lines used |
| Products Manufactured | Finished Products Manufactured |
| Planned production quantity | Quantity to be processed in this process |
Record work time
Step 1: Start working
Open the job card and click Add Row in the Time Log section:
- Enter the start time of the task in the "Start Time" field (the current time will be automatically entered using the "Start Now" button).
- Select the worker in the "Employee" field as needed.
Step 2: Task complete
Once the work is finished:
- Enter the completion time in the "Completion Time" field.
- Enter the actual processing quantity in the "Completed Quantity" field.
- Save
Step 3: Process complete
Once all quantities have been processed:
- Click "Submit"
- The status of the Job Card changes to "Completed".
- The job card for the next step will automatically become "Ready to Work".
Job Card Status

Records kept by multiple workers
If multiple workers take turns handling a single process, add multiple lines to the time log:
